Meal Services

Our flagship program, Meal Services, provides nourishing meals to low-income and homebound seniors in Atlanta who are unable to afford or access adequate nutrition. The Meal Services program delivers meals Tuesday through Saturday to frail, homebound and low-income seniors residing in Fulton County.

Home Deliveries
In order to qualify to receive Meal Services, applicants must be:

  • 60 years and older
  • Fulton County residents
  • Low-income

When designing our menus, we consult with a certified nutritionist, which enables us to offer meals that meet most dietary restrictions.

Congregate Meals

MOWA also provides meals for congregate settings. We design our congregate menus in consultation with a registered dietitian and tailor them to the needs and preferences of our senior clients. As with all of the meals that we serve, our congregate meals are nutritious and well-balanced, but crafted to be appealing and enjoyable, too!

MOWA Fresh Food Partnership

Meals On Wheels Atlanta partners with farmers markets, local growers, and businesses to provide fresh fruits and vegetables as part of a balanced meal plan. The Meals On Wheels Atlanta Fresh Food Partnership provides locally sourced fresh produce to food insecure seniors to improve their nutrition and health. Current partners include: Peachtree Road Farmers Market including a host of local growers.

Food Pantry
Meals On Wheels Atlanta offers a Pantry Program which serves as a critical stop-gap for seniors waiting to receive home-delivered meals. Seniors receive a bag filled with a month-long supply of shelf-stable items.
PLEASE NOTE: All donated items must follow the criteria below.

  • Preferably low sodium cans
  • Preferably new or undented cans
  • No used or open packages
  • No MSG or High Fructose Corn Syrup

Directions for Dropping Off Pantry Items:

Donations of food may be dropped off in our lobby during normal business hours, 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

Pet Food Program
Meals On Wheels Atlanta delivers meals to seniors and their pets!

For many of our homebound clients, their pets are the only family they have. However, because of income restrictions, they struggle to provide their furry friends with the care they need. You can help by donating funds or any of the items listed below.

What we need:

  • Unopened bags/cans of dog or cat food (wet or dry)
  • Unopened dog/cat treats
  • New and unused dog/cat toys
  • New containers of kitty litter
  • New containers to store dry dog/cat food
  • Volunteers to deliver meals and pet food to our seniors!
