Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Last year, volunteers pitched and donated over 36,000 hours volunteering with us – saving MOWA over $87,000 in labor costs.

We could not do it without you.

Volunteer Requirements

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Meals On Wheels Atlanta. To sign up, you will need to:

Create a VolunteerHub account.

Attend an orientation session.

03

Sign a waiver and background check authorization form after orientation.

What type of Volunteer are you?

Age requirements
  • Due to the nature of certain volunteer activities, volunteers must be 13 years of age or older to participate in onsite volunteer opportunities.
  • There is no age requirement for passengers when delivering meals, so drivers are welcome to bring children.
  • Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian at all times and must sign a waiver.
  • Volunteers under 16 do not need to create a VolunteerHub account, however, their parent or guardian must.

To get started, create an account through our VolunteerHub portal by clicking the button below.

Once Once you arrive at the MOWA VolunteerHub main page, click the button labelled “Create An Account” to set up your new volunteer profile.

Once your account is complete, select an orientation session. VolunteerHub will send you an email confirmation as well as a reminder email.

Community Service: We can sign off for community services hours required for school, work, and organizational needs. For court-ordered service, please visit our Community Service tab.

Double Your Impact!

Volunteer groups make an enormous impact at MOWA. Thank you for sharing your time and resources!

An easy way to double your contribution is through employee giving programs. Many companies match employee donations to MOWA. If you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support.

Court-Ordered or Civic

We can sign off for community services hours required for school, work, organizational needs, and court-ordered needs.

For court-ordered community service needs:

  • We do not accept charges related to larceny, theft, violent offenses, sexual offenses, or felonies.
  • You must provide proof of your charge. This must be written documentation from your probation officer, counselor, attorney, or other official.
  • You will be required to sign a contract in person that outlines the nature of your service.
  • You will not be permitted to complete virtual volunteer opportunities.
